Michael Schmitt

Mr. Schmitt is managing the company’s Bericap North America joint venture, an executive sponsor of certain global customer relationships, and providing senior leadership to and planning for Amcor’s expected acquisition of Bemis. Previously, he was President, Amcor Rigid Plastics from 2011 to 2018, where he significantly increased profitability and integrated several strategic acquisitions. Mr. Schmitt joined Amcor in 2010 with the acquisition of Alcan Pharma Plastics. During 10 years at Alcan, he rose from business head of the flexibles food division through positions of increasing responsibility. In 2008, Mr. Schmitt was named President, Alcan Global Pharma and Food Packaging, Americas.
