Annie Thornhill

Annie Thornhill serves as the Executive Director and Vice President at the American Heart Association since August 2015, focusing on community health initiatives across the Mid-Atlantic region while fostering volunteer and board engagement. Previously, Thornhill was the Director of Strategic Alliances at Prevention Partners from February 2008 to June 2015, where leadership in developing national partnerships and advancing employee health initiatives was emphasized. Other notable positions include Chair of the Secondhand Smoke Committee at the NC Alliance for Health, Senior Associate at The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, Graduate Assistant at the Cancer Control Collaborative of North Carolina, and Clean Indoor Air Policy Analyst at the American Cancer Society. Thornhill holds a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Grinnell College.
