Bruce Ovbiagele

Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, MSc, MAS, MBA, MLS, currently serves as a Board Stroke Support Organization Representative for the World Stroke Organization and is the Founder and President of the Society for Equity Neuroscience. Since January 2023, Bruce has held the position of Editor in Chief for the Journal of the American Heart Association, overseeing the publication of significant research in cardiovascular disease and stroke. As a Professor of Neurology and Associate Dean at the University of California, San Francisco, alongside the role of Chief of Staff at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System, Bruce has demonstrated extensive leadership in the medical field. Previous roles include Director on the Board of the American Academy of Neurology and Conference Chair for the American Heart Association International Stroke Conference. Bruce's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Lagos and multiple advanced degrees in business and healthcare leadership.
