Sean Barry

Sean Barry is a seasoned communications and advocacy professional with extensive experience in the healthcare sector. As the Regional Executive for the American Hospital Association since March 2019, Sean leads member relations and advocacy in multiple states, collaborating with state and regional associations and serving as secretary for the Regional Policy Board. Previous roles include Communications Director for the DC Government's Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health & Human Services, where oversight included communications for nine agencies, and Director of Communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Sean's background also includes significant positions in corporate communications and media relations at organizations such as Blue Shield of California and the Arbor Day Foundation. Sean holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
