Tom Bolt

EVP, Chief Risk Officer at AIG

Tom Bolt is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of AIG, overseeing the organization’s corporate risk management strategy on an enterprise-wide basis. He is also a member of AIG’s Executive Leadership Team.

Prior, Mr. Bolt served as Chief Underwriting Office of AIG’s General Insurance business since 2018. He played a critical role in the turnaround of the organization’s General Insurance business by setting standards for underwriting excellence, leading strategies to reshape its portfolio and strengthening its culture.

Mr. Bolt has held a range of senior executive positions over his decades’ long career in the insurance industry. He joined AIG from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he was President and CEO of the U.K. and Southern Europe. Mr. Bolt was also a member of Berkshire Hathaway International Insurance Ltd.’s Board of Directors, after having previously served as Director of Performance Management at Lloyd’s of London and Managing Director of Marlborough Managing Agency at Lloyd’s.

Mr. Bolt holds an M.M in Marketing and Finance and a B.A. in English Literature and Economics from Northwestern University.
