Michael Benedetto

Michael Benedetto serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at the American Museum of Natural History, a position held since January 1998. In this role, Michael oversees all aspects of information security, compliance, and risk management. Concurrently, Michael has held various senior roles in information technology, including Director of Information Technology and Deputy CIO, managing the Museum's infrastructure and strategic technological services. Michael has also been a key contributor as a Co-Principal Investigator on multiple National Science Foundation awards, enhancing data management and high-performance computing capabilities at the Museum. Prior to joining the Museum, Michael co-founded Cybernex Inc. and held several leadership positions there. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Thomas Edison State University, with studies also at Montclair State University and the University of Hartford.
