Khaldoun AbouAssi is a Professor of Public Administration and Policy and the Provost Associate Professor at American University, with significant experience in public and nonprofit management. Since September 2019, Khaldoun has held these positions, having previously served as an Assistant Professor in the same department from 2015 to 2019. Khaldoun's academic career also includes an Assistant Professorship at Texas A&M University's Bush School of Government and Public Service from 2012 to 2015, and a Graduate Assistant and Research Associate role at Syracuse University from 2007 to 2012. In prior professional experience, Khaldoun held various roles at AMIDEAST, including Training Department Director, where management of significant training budget programs was a key responsibility, and worked in the Embassy of South Korea in Lebanon as a Political Advisor. Khaldoun's educational background includes a PhD in Public Administration from Syracuse University and both an MA and a BA in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut.
