Colin MacCarthy

Colin MacCarthy has extensive experience in communications and media relations, currently serving as Advocacy Communications Manager and previously as Advocacy Media Relations Specialist at the American Veterinary Medical Association since July 2020. Prior roles include Social Media Coordinator for the Washington Football Team and Communications Director/Media Relations Manager for the Maryland Black Bears Hockey. Colin MacCarthy's background also includes serving as Press Secretary at the U.S. House of Representatives and various positions at the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, where responsibilities included drafting press releases and managing social media. Early career experiences involved internships with Senator Edward Markey's Office and the Endangered Species Coalition, focusing on legislative support and outreach. Colin MacCarthy holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the University of Maryland.
