Teresa M. May

SVP & Chief Marketing Officer at American Woodmark

Teresa May is the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for American Woodmark. She joined the company in 2018 as a board member before transitioning to chief marketing officer in 2020, leading all aspects of marketing including brand, customer experience, product development, communications, strategy and insights.

Teresa holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University as well as B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Iowa State University. With over 25 years of professional experience, her career has been highlighted with leadership roles in marketing and general management.

Prior to joining the company, Teresa was the senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Asurion, a leading provider of services that help consumers protect, connect and enjoy their technology. Prior to Asurion, she held various management positions with Owens Corning, Stanley Black & Decker, Danaher Corporation and The Procter & Gamble Company.

A native of Sibley, Iowa, Teresa and her husband Tony will be relocating from Nashville, Tennessee, to Winchester, Virginia, in the coming months. Teresa’s passions include the outdoors, Pilates, yoga and advocating for the Make-A-Wish Foundation (of which she sits on their board).
