Amify, the world’s first turnkey Amazon-as-a-service provider, expanded its executive leadership team with three new C-level hires: Gene Sohn (Chief Technology Officer), Igor Lima (Chief Financial Officer), and Chris Mehrabi (Chief Product Officer).
Sohn, Lima and Mehrabi have joined Amify in the wake of the company's 2019 $5.8 million Series A funding, hoping to hasten and optimize Amify’s growth in a variety of areas. Headquartered in Arlington, VA, Amify has partnered with Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central sellers, leveraging data from their own website, Amazon and digital advertising to help customers maximize sales and profitability. Amify’s Series A funding was led by Mercury Fund, and also included Dundee Venture Capital, CincyTech, SaaS Venture Capital and Capital One Co-Founder Nigel Morris.
Sohn will lead Amify’s technology strategy and data platform, engineering products and capabilities that allow Amify to help customers make the most of their e-commerce data assets like Amazon, digital advertising, and their own website channels, making better brand decisions and optimizing online growth. Lima will focus on perfecting Amify’s financial performance and investment strategy, and Mehrabi will launch Amify’s product development strategy to give customers a full platform and end-to-end services to grow their businesses on Amazon.
“Gene, Igor and Chris are all proven experts in their respective fields, which is why we are thrilled to add them to our executive team,” said Ethan McAfee, Amify’s founder and CEO. “As Amify continues to invest in the company following significant venture capital investment in 2019, a major priority was bringing additional depth to our already strong leadership team to help us scale and grow strategically. There is no other provider in this space that comes close to our level of expertise in each and every area our brands need to succeed.”
During his 28 years in cloud software, business intelligence, product management and more, Sohn has held multiple executive-level positions, including co-founding and acting as CTO of Intellinote, a company acquired by BroadSoft (which was subsequently acquired by Cisco). Lima, a growth-oriented and operationally driven CFO, spent more than 12 years at Rackspace, where he was an integral member of the finance team that helped grow the company from $15M to $2.1B, including a 2008 IPO. Mehrabi boasts 12 years as a product executive, most recently serving as vice president of data product and data science at Framebridge, where he oversaw business intelligence, predictive analytics, consumer insights and martech across eCommerce, manufacturing and retail operations.
