Richard Carter

Richard Carter is an accomplished fundraising professional with extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Global Head of Individual Giving at Amnesty International since May 2017, Richard has previously held key roles such as Regional Fundraising Manager for Europe at ActionAid, where strategic marketing initiatives were developed to enhance supporter engagement and retention. A member of ActionAid's Fundraising Leadership Group, Richard was also involved in emergency response fundraising through the EFAST team. Richard's earlier experience includes significant positions at the British Red Cross and NTT Fundraising, where effective campaign strategies successfully recruited thousands of new donors. Richard holds a Diploma in Digital Marketing from The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Institute of Fundraising, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications from Leeds College of Art.
