Michelle H. Cherbavaz

Michelle H. Cherbavaz has extensive experience in procurement and contract management within the transportation and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Procurement at Amtrak since June 2009, Michelle oversees the Procurement Operations Group focused on Capital Equipment and Leasing. Previous experience includes the role of Senior Manager Contract Specialist, where responsibilities encompassed the creation and management of solicitations and contracts, alongside process improvements and standardization initiatives. Prior to Amtrak, Michelle worked at Oki Data Americas, Inc. as a Contract Administrator, negotiating diverse contracts across multiple departments. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Spanish, and International Politics from Rutgers University, supplemented by earlier studies at Schiller International University.
