Seema is a versatile medicinal chemist, specializing in nucleos(t)ides and oligonucleotides chemistry. She received her PhD in Chemistry from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. Her doctoral research focused on synthesis and biophysical properties of Nucleic acid analogues bearing 5-atom achiral amide- and chiral D/L-amino acid-derived linkages. After completion of her PhD, she worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher and Assistant Scientist at Emory University, Atlanta, GA in the lab of Dr. Raymond Schinazi, where she designed and synthesized novel nucleosides & corresponding prodrugs/phosphate analogs for the treatment of HIV, HCV, HBV & other newly emerging viruses. Now at Ansa Bio, Seema is excited to help bring enzymatic DNA synthesis to market by using her skills and experience.
