Steven Catlett

Deputy General Counsel at Aon

Steven Catlett is the Deputy General Counsel at Aon. Prior to their current position, they served as the General Counsel for the Chicago Fire Department from November 2014 to July 2016. Steven was responsible for all legal functions of the Chicago Fire Department, with its over 5,000 employees and $500 million annual budget.

From January 2013 to June 2014, Steven Catlett was a partner at Schiff Hardin LLP. Steven then moved to Sidley Austin, where they served as a partner from January 2011 to December 2013. Before that, they were a partner at Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker from January 2006 to December 2010.

In addition to their work in private practice, Steven Catlett has also served as EVP and board member at Anshe Emet Synagogue from January 2005 to December 2009. Steven began their legal career as a law clerk for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on the U.S. Supreme Court from January 1987 to December 1988.

Steven Catlett pursued a Juris Doctor at Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School.
