Yani Zhang

Yani Zhang is an experienced System Software Engineer at Apple since July 2019, previously serving as Software System Manager at Onto Innovation from June 2006 to July 2019. In the managerial role, Yani Zhang led diverse teams across the US, India, and China, providing direction on project priorities and quality assurance. As a Senior Software Engineer, contributions included advancements in machine vision systems, development of GPU algorithms for image alignment, and ensuring performance exceeded customer specifications. Prior experience includes a Research Scientist position at the University of California, Santa Barbara from April 2002 to June 2006. Yani Zhang holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and a Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition from Xi'an Jiaotong University.
