Doug Meegan

Doug Meegan is an accomplished Principal Scientist, Vice President, and Division Manager at Applied Research Associates, Inc. since June 2005, where leadership in an interdisciplinary research and development business unit has been a primary focus. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Associate and Group Leader of the Industrial Acoustics research group at Applied Research Laboratories, The University of Texas at Austin, from October 1995 to May 2005, and also as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the same institution from 2002 to 2004, where curriculum development and teaching of a "Numerical Methods" class were undertaken. Doug's early career includes a role as a Graduate Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory, specializing in nonlinear elastic wave propagation in earth materials from August 1991 to August 1994. Academically, Doug Meegan holds a Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Elastic Wave Propagation, and Acoustics from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master's Degree in Physics, Acoustics, and Superfluids from Penn State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Guilford College.
