Vishal Patel

Vishal Patel has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Vishal has recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at Appriss Retail since September 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Engineering at the same company from March 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining Appriss, Patel worked as an Instructor for Data Analytics Boot Camp at UC Irvine from October 2018 to March 2020. Vishal also served as the Director of Data Science R&D at Appriss from November 2016 to March 2020.

Patel started their career at Appriss Retail as a Senior Data Scientist from June 2014 to November 2016. Vishal also pursued their PhD at the University of California, Irvine, from September 2009 to June 2014. During this period, Patel interned as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in June 2013.

In addition, Patel held roles at the Association of Graduate Students, UC - Irvine, and The Retail Equation as Vice President of Financial Affairs and Data Analyst Intern, respectively, in 2012. Vishal also worked as a Junior Scientist at Harvard Medical School, where they conducted research under Dr. Jeremy Gunarwardena's lab from January 2009 to May 2009.

Vishal Patel completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from Anna University, which they pursued from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they attended UC Irvine, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from 2009 to 2014.
