Sonia Y. Torres

Sonia Y. Torres is an experienced construction management professional currently serving as the Mid-Atlantic Operations Manager at APSI Construction Management since October 2025. Prior experience includes a tenure as Principal Project Manager at McKissack & McKissack, where Sonia directed a $3.2 billion school infrastructure recovery program for the US Virgin Islands and managed a $1.2 billion housing rehabilitation portfolio for the DC Housing Authority. Additional roles at McKissack & McKissack involved oversight of $75 million capital projects for the University of the District of Columbia. Earlier career milestones at Gilbane Building Company focused on various engineering and project management roles, including the Herbert C. Hoover Modernization Project. Sonia holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and a Master's degree in Construction Management from Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico.
