Lindsey Williams

Lindsey Williams is the Executive Director of Research & Development at Apton Biosystems. Lindsey has over eight years of experience in the biotech industry, with a focus on developing assays to detect rare mutations for clinical and forensic applications.

Lindsey began their career as a postdoctoral research fellow at Princeton University, where they studied Pif1 helicases, enzymes that unwind nucleic acids. Lindsey then worked as an R&D Scientist at Ariosa Diagnostics, Roche Sequencing Unit, where they developed in vitro diagnostics based on cell-free circulating DNA. Finally, they joined TwinStrand Biosciences as Senior Director of Assay Development, leveraging Duplex Sequencing to detect rare mutations.

In their current role at Apton Biosystems, Lindsey is responsible for leading a team of scientists in the development of new products and technologies. Under their guidance, the team has made significant progress in developing novel assays for the detection of rare mutations.

Lindsey Williams received their Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington. Prior to that, they attended the University of Florida where they earned both their Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and their Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Lindsey graduated Summa cum laude from the University of Florida with their B.S. and Cum laude with their B.A.
