Samer Cortas

Samer Cortas is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in direct lending and capital markets. Currently serving as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets, EMEA at Ares Management Corporation since February 2022, Cortas has held significant roles in major firms, including Managing Director at Apollo Global Management Inc. from June 2018 to August 2021, and Partner at Vision Capital from October 2010 to April 2018. Prior positions include Director at Houlihan Lokey and Co-Founder, Executive Director at Blenheim Advisors Limited, where the firm was later sold to Houlihan Lokey. Cortas began his career as an Associate at CIBC World Markets after earning a Bachelor's degree from Columbia University, where education was completed between 1994 and 1998, following earlier studies at Trinity School in NYC and Bank Street School.
