Sayantan Mahapatra is currently serving as a Core Postdoctoral Appointee in the Nanoscale Synthesis and Characterization group at Argonne National Laboratory, under the guidance of Jeffrey R. Guest. Previously, Sayantan held a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Northwestern University, where research concentrated on surface imaging techniques and non-covalent bonding in supramolecular chemistry with Sir Fraser Stoddart. Sayantan earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago, where achievements included recognition as a Dean's Scholar during the 2021-2022 academic year. Additionally, Sayantan completed a Master's degree in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Early research experience includes summer fellowships at the Indian Institute of Science and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, with a focus on computational simulations and halogen bonding. Educational foundation was established with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta.
