Maike Schmidt

Maike Schmidt is a seasoned leader in translational sciences and biomarker development, currently serving as Vice President of Translational Sciences at Arsenal Biosciences, Inc. since March 2025. Prior to this role, Maike held various senior positions at 23andMe, including Senior Group Head and Group Head in Translational Sciences and Biomarker Translation. At FivePrime Therapeutics, Maike directed clinical biomarker efforts for novel immune-oncology therapeutics, overseeing biomarker hypothesis, strategy, and implementation. Previous experience encompasses significant roles at Genentech, as well as academic research positions, including a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF and a master’s project at the Max Planck Institute. Maike earned a PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Dundee and a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marburg University.
