Richard Luo

Richard Luo has a diverse work history in the software engineering field. Richard is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Aspire since April 2023. Prior to this, they were a Software Engineer at CaptivateIQ from August 2020 to April 2023.

Richard also has experience as a Co-Founder at Town App, where they created and developed a hyperlocal app for connecting people within a certain geohash. Richard was responsible for building the frontend using React Native and Expo, as well as the backend using Node.js and Socket.io. Richard held this role from November 2019 to July 2020.

Before their entrepreneurial venture, Richard worked at Blockthrough as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2019 to November 2019 and as a Full Stack Developer from October 2017 to December 2018. Richard also worked as an Integration Engineer at Index Exchange from August 2016 to October 2017.

Richard's early experience includes working as an IT assistant (Coop) at Ontario Financing Authority from September 2014 to September 2015.

Richard Luo obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science Software Engineering (Coop) from the University of Toronto Scarborough, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. Richard also holds additional certifications, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Essential Training from LinkedIn, which they completed in December 2020, and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services, which they obtained in May 2017.
