About

Kenji Yasukawa has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Kenji currently serves as the Representative Director, President and CEO at Astellas Pharma. Prior to their current role, Yasukawa served as the Vice President, Inflammation Disease Area Lead at Pfizer from January 2005 to May 2010. In this role, they were responsible for the development of Pfizer's inflammation portfolio. From May 2000 to January 2005, Yasukawa served as the Medical Director at Eli Lilly and Company, where they were responsible for early stage Inflammation/Immunology and late-stage Prasugrel development.


Kenji Yasukawa attended The University of Toledo for their undergraduate degree, where they studied biology. Kenji then went on to Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to earn their M.D. Afterwards, they completed their internal medicine residency and chief residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Lastly, they did a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
