Lena Bosu

Lena Bosu is a seasoned professional in pharmaceutical research and development, currently serving as the Director of R&D Strategy & Operations at Astellas Pharma since April 2014. In this role, Lena formulates holistic research strategies across Astellas' global function units and collaborates closely with the Chief Scientific Officer and Corporate Strategy Leadership Team on project evaluation and strategic implementation. Lena's extensive career at Astellas includes significant roles in overseeing research strategies for gene therapy and regenerative medicine, portfolio management, and the successful development of innovative research strategies in various therapeutic areas. With a solid academic foundation, including a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Tohoku University, Lena has also contributed to academia as an Associate Research Scientist and Teaching Assistant at Tohoku University, highlighting a comprehensive blend of industry and research experience.
