Irina Ramos is the Director of Bioprocess Technology and Engineering at AstraZeneca since November 2021, focusing on CMC development and innovation while leading a team in evolving downstream bioprocesses. Previously held positions include Lead for Control Strategy for Process Intensification at NIIMBL, Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and Senior Manager of Bioprocess Technology at AstraZeneca, among others. Irina began their career at MedImmune as a Downstream Process Scientist and held various teaching roles at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Additional leadership experience includes co-chairing a session on Advances in BioProcessing and serving as Treasurer at Toastmasters International Club. Irina holds a PhD in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto.
