Dr. Fullman joined Atlantic Street in October of 2019, and is focused on the healthcare portfolio of companies. Before joining Atlantic Street, Howard was the Medical Director and Chief of Staff for Kaiser Permanente, West Los Angeles Medical Center; where he practiced for over 25 years.
Under his leadership, the medical center has received national recognition for achievements in quality and safety and developed world-class programs for sickle cell disease, robotic surgery, bariatric care, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal surgery, and transgender surgery care. Dr. Fullman oversaw medical care for 300,000 patients and led 450 physicians and 4,000 employees.
Dr. Fullman is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He received his BS at Northwestern University and MD with Distinction at Northwestern University Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California, San Francisco and was selected as Chief Medical Resident at UCSF, as well. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Fullman is a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, Clinical Professor of Medicine at USC, and Professor of Health Care Systems Engineering at Loyola Marymount University.
As a partner of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Dr. Fullman has served on the SCPMG Board of Directors since 1990. He has been the Chair of the Quality Committee of the SCPMG Board. He has served as Chief of Gastroenterology and President of the Hospital Executive Committee of Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles.
Dr. Fullman is also a fellow in the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterology Association and has authored many publications in the fields of health care leadership and gastroenterology.
