Abraham Heifets

Abraham Heifets is the CEO and Co-Founder of Atomwise. Abraham has a wide range of experience in the software engineering field, starting with their internship at IBM in 2000. Abraham then worked as a staff software engineer at IBM from 2003-2007, where they gained experience in high-performance XML processing. In 2008, they began working as a graduate student at the University of Toronto, where they applied modern heuristic game tree search algorithms to Computer-Aided Organic Synthesis Planning. Abraham also built tools to support automated retrosynthetic analysis and protein active-site comparisons. In 2013, they left the University of Toronto to start Atomwise.

Abraham Heifets' educational career began with a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University. Abraham continued their education at Cornell, obtaining an MEng in Computer Science. Abraham then went on to complete a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. After completing their PhD, Heifets joined Y Combinator as a Masters of Growth.
