Francis Rumsey

Consultant Technical Writer at Audio Engineering Society

Francis Rumsey is a consultant technical writer at the Audio Engineering Society. Francis has previously worked as a senior research engineer at LG Electronics, where they researched new audio coding algorithms and MPEG audio codec standardisation. Francis also worked on the development of 3D audio processing algorithms. Prior to that, they worked at the Centre for Audio and Psychoacoustic Engineering (CAPE) at the University of Huddersfield. Rumsey has also interned as a recording engineer at the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Francis Rumsey studied psychoacoustics and sound engineering at the University of Surrey, where they earned their PhD. Francis also holds a BMus(Hons) in music and sound recording from the University of Surrey. In addition, they have studied sound recording at the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Institute.

Francis Rumsey reports to Jonathan Wyner, President. They work with Ian Corbett - Vice President, Central Region, USA/Canada, Cesar Lamschtein - Vice President, Latin American Region, and Lori Jackson - Membership Services, U.S./Canada/Latin America/Asia-Pacific.
