Adam Horsburgh

CEO at Austin Health

Adam Horsburgh was appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2020.

Adam joins Austin Health with extensive health sector management experience in Victoria, as well as in the UK National Health Service (NHS).

He has held senior policy and advisory roles with the Victorian Government’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Prior to joining Austin Health, Adam was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Melbourne Health.

At DHHS, he was the Director of Performance and System Design.

Prior to this Adam spent eight years at Monash Health where he was responsible for managing a portfolio of clinical services that operated across multiple acute hospital sites and extensive community-based services, as well as delivering financial, access and quality performance metrics. He also held the role of Executive Director, Performance Strategy and Innovation.

A graduate of the UK's NHS Management Training Scheme, Adam has held a variety of operational management roles in the NHS; and he also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Public Sector Consulting practice in the UK where he undertook financial and operational improvement projects across NHS Trusts and Social Services departments.
