Sarah U'Brien has extensive experience in community recovery and resilience leadership. Currently serving as the NSW State Lead for Special Projects in Resilience and Recovery at Australian Red Cross since February 2021, Sarah leads a team focused on enhancing community-based programs aimed at mitigating the impacts of emergencies. Previously, at Dungog Shire Community Centre from February 2010 to August 2022, Sarah directed community-led recovery initiatives following severe storms in 2015, providing critical support services. Additionally, Sarah managed the center, guiding a team of staff and volunteers in developing enriching and inclusive programs since 2010. Earlier experience includes serving as Program Coordinator for Families First NSW at Lithgow Information and Neighbourhood Centre from 2002 to 2007, where Sarah worked to connect and support rural and vulnerable families. Sarah holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of New England and has further qualifications from Charles Sturt University.
