Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the scientific field. Matt began their career in 2003 at Institut Pasteur as an EMBO Fellow, before moving on to the University of Cambridge as a Post Doc in 2004. In 2005, Matt joined Abcam, where they took on various roles including Senior Product Development Manager and Head of R&D. Matt'sresponsibilities at Abcam included managing the R&D group, supporting M&A activities, and providing scientific support for the company. In 2013, Matt joined Avacta Life Sciences as the Head of Research & Development, and later became the Chief Scientific Officer (Diagnostics).

Matt Johnson received their education as follows: Matt attended Westfield Comprehensive from 1990 to 1995 and completed their A-Levels at Sheffield College (Norton Site) from 1995 to 1997. Matt then pursued a BSc (Hons) in Genetics & Microbiology at The University of Sheffield from 1997 to 2000. Later, they completed their PhD in Molecular Biology at The University of Sheffield from 2000 to 2004. In 2012, they attended Bournemouth University for a PGCert in Intellectual Property Law.
