David Murie

David Murie is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in underwriting governance and financial planning. Currently serving as the Global Head of Underwriting Governance & Execution Oversight and Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Underwriting Officer at AXIS Capital since September 2014, David also held positions such as Head of Business Performance and Vice President of FP&A, overseeing a wide range of financial responsibilities, including business planning and performance management. Previously, David was a Senior Finance Manager at Towergate Insurance, where responsibilities included leading group financial reporting and forecasting processes. Prior to Towergate, David spent over six years at Aviva, where involvement in the UK General Insurance graduate scheme included various placements throughout the Finance function. David holds a Chartered Accountant qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and Business Finance from the University of Dundee.
