Andrea S. James has a diverse work experience in various industries. Andrea S. started their career as a Business Reporter at The Mobile Press Register, where they covered a range of beats and won awards for breaking news and overall section quality. Andrea S. then moved on to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, where they focused on retail, labor, and economic reporting, as well as starting an online retail news blog. Andrea S. continued their journalism career as an Aerospace Reporter at SeattlePI, covering the Seattle economy and major companies like Microsoft, Boeing, and Starbucks.

In 2009, Andrea transitioned to the finance industry, joining Dougherty & Company as a Vice President and Senior Research Analyst. Andrea S. specialized in researching emerging technologies and disruptive markets such as aerospace & defense and industrials. During their time at Dougherty & Company, they amassed expertise in equity capital markets and developing investment ideas.

Andrea's next significant career move was joining Tesla in 2016 as part of the Investor Relations team. Andrea S. worked on strategic investor communications, quarterly messaging, and was the lead planner for a major investor event. Andrea S. also joined Axon in 2017 as the VP of Investor Relations before progressing to VP of Corporate Strategy & Investor Relations and ultimately Chief Communications Officer. Andrea S.'scontributions were instrumental in Axon's significant growth and entry into the S&P 500.

In 2023, Andrea joined Evolv Technology as an Advisory Board Member and Athena Alliance as a Member. Additionally, they founded their coaching and advisory practice, Solve for X Coaching, in 2016, serving corporate clients and institutional investors as an Executive Performance Coach, facilitator, and strategic planning consultant.

Lastly, as a Co-Founder of Family, Inc., Andrea has gained valuable experience in managing and raising three children, overseeing a paid staff, and applying business principles to home management.

Throughout their career, Andrea has consistently showcased their ability to excel in different roles and industries, leveraging their expertise in journalism, finance, investor relations, strategic planning, and leadership coaching.

Andrea S. James has a Master of Science - MSJ in Journalism & Writing from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science with dual-minors in Applied Physics and Communications from American University - Kogod School of Business. Andrea S. also attended Willingboro High School. In terms of additional certifications, Andrea obtained a Master TASER Instructor Certification from Axon in 2018, a Series 63 certification from FINRA in 2016, and Series 86, 87, and 7 certifications from FINRA in 2010.
