Douglas Handy is an experienced educator and administrator with an extensive background in career and technical education and employee training and development within Baltimore County Public Schools since June 2008. Currently serving as the Director of Employee Training and Development and Executive Director of the Department of Equity & Cultural Proficiency, Douglas focuses on establishing policies to address diversity and equity while managing budgets to ensure resource efficiency. Previous roles include Director of Career & Technical Education and Fine Arts, and Coordinator of the Office of Career and Technology Education, where Douglas led diverse teams and collaborated with local educational institutions to enhance CTE programs. Douglas holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership from Walden University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
