Ute Schmaltz

Ute Schmaltz has extensive experience in European and international affairs, having held significant positions at Bankenverband from November 2017 to November 2023, including Head of European and International Affairs, where responsibilities included strategic planning and lobbying. Prior roles at Bankenverband encompassed Director of European Affairs and Adviser/Associate Director, focusing on policy insights and consultancy on EU politics. Ute Schmaltz also served as a Senior Advisor at Commerzbank AG, managing European affairs, and worked as a Parliamentary Assistant at the European Parliament, specializing in economic and monetary issues. Early experience includes a traineeship at Evonik Industries AG in Brussels. Ute Schmaltz holds a Master of Arts in Political Sciences and History from Universität Trier and studied at the University of Karlstad.
