Thomas Spoerel

Thomas Spoerel is the Senior Vice President, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer at Becton Dickinson. Thomas has over fifteen years of experience in finance and accounting.

Spoerel began their career at Arthur Andersen as a Staff II in the Audit Department. Thomas then transitioned to Ernst & Young LLP, where they progressed through the ranks to Senior Manager. In 2009, they joined Catalent as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller. Thomas held this position for six years before joining Becton Dickinson in 2015.

Spoerel is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Rutgers University.

Thomas Spoerel's educational career includes receiving an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Public Accounting from Fordham University. Thomas also attended CHAMINADE.

Thomas Spoerel reports to Christopher DelOrefice, EVP, CFO. They work with Gregory Rodetis - SVP, Treasurer, Kristen Stewart - SVP, Strategy & Investor Relations.
