Derek Gabaldon

Derek Gabaldon is an Engineer II at Belcan since September 2022, where collaboration with cross-discipline teams and design iteration using NX and Teamcenter for the XA101 engine bearing compartment design is emphasized. Previously, Derek worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Barfield Inc, focusing on aircraft component tooling and MRO support. A brief internship at Rolls-Royce involved process improvements for compressor stators utilizing Six Sigma principles. Academic experience includes research as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Florida International University's Applied Research Center, addressing Department of Energy environmental challenges, and a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering from Florida International University and Broward College. Derek’s early career involved significant hands-on experience as a Rigging Technician and a watchmaking apprentice.
