Michelle Sheffield

Michelle Sheffield joined BenefitMall in March 2009 as Chief Information Officer. In her role, she is responsible for leading and transforming the company’s Information Technology function, including its systems, infrastructure, processes, and security. She is also responsible for BenefitMall’s Enterprise PMO overseeing the company’s corporate initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment and cross-functional collaboration. Michelle has over 25 years of information technology leadership experience achieving business results through expertise in strategic planning, software development, vendor management, project delivery, digital transformation, M&A integration, and system modernization and consolidation.

Prior to BenefitMall, Michelle was Vice President of Information Technology for Torchmark Corporation. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of the company’s IT organization, systems, and infrastructure supporting the holding company and its subsidiaries. Before joining Torchmark, Michelle served as Vice President of Information Technology for American Messaging Services and Director of Information Technology for Verizon Wireless where she successfully led IT organizations and multiple strategic initiatives, including the development and implementation of customer-facing platforms and the consolidation of backend systems and infrastructure.

Michelle holds an MBA from SMU Cox School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Management Science and Computer Systems from Oklahoma State University. She serves on the board of directors for American National Bank of Texas and is a member of the SMU Cox Associate Board. Michelle is also a volunteer for the Salvation Army and the Dallas Technology Ball supporting STEM education.
