Avery Baker

Avery Baker is an experienced maintenance professional with a strong background in the steel industry and law enforcement. Currently serving as the Hot Mill Lead Mechanic at Big River Steel since June 2016, Avery oversees the Mill Stand Area and fluid systems, prioritizing safety and maintenance. Prior experience includes a Maintenance Day Mechanic role at Nucor Corporation, and nearly a decade at Nucor Steel Hickman as a Maintenance Mechanic, where troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems was essential. Additional experience encompasses positions as Maintenance Supervisor at Thomas & Betts and self-employed owner operator at Utley Inc. Earlier in a law enforcement career, Avery served as a Sergeant at Osceola Police Department, advancing to Detective within six months.
