David Kurlandsky has extensive experience in intellectual property law, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry. Kurlandsky served as Senior Patent Attorney at Novartis from November 2009 to August 2019 and held roles as Senior Corporate Counsel and Patent Counsel/Group Leader at Pfizer between July 2000 and November 2007. Kurlandsky acted as Lead Counsel for IP at Takeda from September 2019 to January 2021 and currently serves as Senior Director, Lead IP Counsel for the MS Franchise, and IP Counsel at Biogen since January 2021. Earlier in the career, Kurlandsky gained experience as an Associate at multiple firms, including Gifford, Krass, Groh, Sprinkle, Anderson & Citkowski, P.C. and Howard & Howard P.C., as well as working as a Senior Attorney at Butzel Long. Kurlandsky holds a JD from Drake University Law School, an MPH in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and a BS in Microbiology from the University of Michigan.
