Paul Roder is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing software for advanced imaging and characterization systems. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Bionano since May 2015, Paul focuses on software instrument control and image analysis algorithms to facilitate high-throughput DNA genomic variation mapping. Prior roles include Senior Software Engineer positions at Intrexon Corporation, where Paul contributed to cell characterization and laser processing systems, and Cyntellect, developing computer vision software for live cell identification. Paul’s earlier experience includes software engineering roles at HP and Agilent Technologies, focusing on computer vision systems for print inspection and circuit board X-ray inspection, respectively. Educationally, Paul holds a BS in Engineering Physics from Cornell University, obtained in 1986.
