Barbara Forbes

Barbara Forbes has worked in the international development sector since 2012. Barbara began their career with VSO in 2012 as a Livestock Development Officer and Project Management Advisor. In 2016, they worked for U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) as a Health Coordinator and for Cuso International as an Economic Development Advisor at GI-Agro. From 2017 to 2018, they worked for Catholic Relief Services as an International Development Fellow and from 2018 to 2021 they worked for CAFOD as a Business Intelligence Developer, Data Analyst and Project Manager. Currently, they are employed by birdie as a Senior Product Analyst, where they collaborate with engineers and product managers to coordinate data pipelines and understand analytics requirements. Barbara also line manages two analysts.

Barbara Forbes has a diverse educational background. Barbara obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science & International Development from the University of Toronto Scarborough in 2014. Barbara then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Co-operative Organization, Food Marketing and Rural Development from University College Cork between 2014-2015. Afterwards, they received a Master's Degree in Agriculture Development from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 2015-2016. In 2020, they completed a Master's degree in Information Science from UCL. Additionally, they have taken summer courses in Trauma and Resilience at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and obtained certifications in Python for Everybody from Coursera and an International Diploma in Business Analysis from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
