Bitcoin Association Appoints new Asia Ambassadors

The Bitcoin Association has named two new ambassadors to increase growth in its Asia market. Masumi Hamahira will be based in Malaysia, and Jeff Chen will be based in Singapore. The pair are the fifth and sixth Asian ambassadors for the Swiss-based Association, and bring the total number of global ambassadors to 20.
“With Asia being a region in which we are seeing an explosion of interest in Bitcoin SV, now is the right time for Bitcoin Association to expand our presence and accelerate our outreach to enterprises and developers in two key Southeast Asian countries – Singapore and Malaysia,” said Bitcoin Association founding president Jimmy Nguyen. “Jeff and Masumi have made considerable contributions to the Bitcoin SV ecosystem and are excellent advocates for the advantages of the world using a single public massively scalable blockchain."
Mr. Hamahira is a veteran financial executive, having spent 21 years with the world’s fifth-largest bank, MUFG in Malaysia. His last position was as Executive Advisor for the Islamic Banking Window, and he is proficient in bringing blockchain technology to traditional markets.
Mr. Chen comes to Bitcoin Association from Maxthon, a web browser he was founder and CEO of. He has a long history working in internet technology, and is also developing a new domain registry for blockchain-based internet.
