Oktavia Catsaros

Oktavia is a Vice President in BLJ’s New York office, specializing in strategic and crisis communications for governmental, corporate, and nonprofit clients based in the U.S., China, Russia, the Middle East, and the CEE region. Her work has included developing and implementing communication strategies, reputation management, and media relations for clients including a Hong Kong-based foundation, a London-listed aluminum producer, a litigation client, and various governments and nonprofits.

Prior to joining BLJ Worldwide, Oktavia worked on building and implementing strategies for governmental and corporate clients including that of the Republic of Serbia, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, and an FTSE 250 oil and gas company, SOCO International. She also helped lead communication efforts around the largest defense merger in the MENA region, as well as provided on-ground media relations support to the Nigerian government’s campaign against Boko Haram.

Oktavia speaks fluent Polish and has a Master’s degree in Russian, Eurasian, and East European studies from Columbia University in the City of New York.
