Dave Horwich

Managing Director at Blue Haven Initiative

Dave Horwich has deep experience in issue advocacy, political engagement, and building issues-based social impact movements. Previously, Dave opened and oversaw the Chicago office for Civitas Public Affairs Group, a leading national bipartisan firm dedicated to creating sector-wide change on complex issues.

Prior to joining Civitas, Dave served as vice president of Newsweb Corporation, the family office of Newsweb Chairman Fred Eychaner, where he advised Mr. Eychaner on a wide range of political, philanthropic, and corporate matters. He also oversaw multiple initiatives of the Eychaner’s Alphawood Foundationr\. Among those initiatives were the construction of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, a $53 million memorial on NY's Roosevelt Island designed by famed architect Louis Kahn, and launching and overseeing Alphawood’s Mayan archaeology portfolio.

Over the last 20 years, Dave has served as a lead advance representative for dignitaries including President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Vice President Al Gore, among others. He has coordinated visits of these high profile individuals on five continents.

Dave served as co-founder and president of NeoHand, Inc., an award-winning developer of consumer-oriented software solutions for mobile devices. He also managed a winning state senate race and served in both the White House Office of Scheduling and Advance and the British House of Commons.

Dave received a BA in political science from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

A native of the northern suburbs of Chicago, David resides there with his wife and two sons.
