Douglas Parks

Douglas Parks joined BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York in April 2017 and is the company’s senior vice president, chief human resources officer.

He is responsible for establishing and driving human resource strategies to build culture, engagement, capability, and capacity through integrated talent acquisition, development, and deployment processes that are aligned to business goals.

Most recently, Parks served as EmblemHealth’s vice president, human resources strategy and transformation, where he led a 28% improvement in core engagement scores.

Parks earned a master’s degree in science, learning and organizational change from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Purdue University.

He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Professionals (SHRM) and the National Association for African-Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). Parks serves on the Buffalo Prep Board of Directors.

Serves on the board of directors for Evanta New York Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Leadership Summit, Buffalo & Erie County Workforce Investment Board, Inc., Buffalo Prep and Invest Buffalo Niagara.
