Ian McGimpsey

Ian McGimpsey is an experienced geologist currently serving as the Head of Section for Aitik Near Mine Exploration at Boliden, a position held since June 2009. In this role, Ian leads a team focused on the discovery, development, and optimization of mineral deposits in northern Sweden's Aitik area. Previously, Ian held several positions at Boliden, including Principal Resource Geologist, where leadership was provided for reserve and resource reporting, and Senior Resource Geologist, contributing to various feasibility projects. Ian also has experience as a Mine Geologist and an Exploration Geologist, having worked on projects involving resource estimation and drill program planning. Prior experience includes positions at Hudbay Minerals Inc. and academic training with a Master's degree in Geology from Lund University and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Manitoba.
