Leigh-Ann Russell

EVP, Innovation & Engineering at BP

Leigh-Ann was appointed to bp’s leadership team as EVP, innovation & engineering with effect from March 1, 2022. Prior to that she was bp’s Chief Procurement Officer, accountable for a safe, ethical, and competitive global supply chain spend of c.$30BN. She has also held the role of Global Head of Upstream Supply Chain.

Leigh-Ann has over 20 years’ of engineering experience, commencing in a range of operational roles with well services company Schlumberger. With bp, Leigh-Ann has led both onshore and offshore teams with accountability for HSE and wells major projects. She has done this regionally as a drilling engineering manager and operations manager in the North Sea, and globally as VP of technical functions, which saw her lead the process safety, engineering, and operations disciplines for wells.

Leigh-Ann holds a BSc Eng in Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, is Chartered, and a fellow of the Energy Institute. She is also a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and on their visiting professor’s management committee, as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Leigh-Ann is a non-Executive director on the board at Hill & Smith Holdings PLC, a FTSE250 company who aims to create sustainable infrastructure and safe transport through innovation.
