Thorsten Müller

Thorsten Muller is a board member at BrainBox AI and the Executive Vice President Building and Home Automation Solutions at ABB. Thorsten is responsible for the global building and home automation business, including wiring accessories, KNX-components, climate control, safety and security systems as well as complete solution sets (comfort, safety and security, efficiency). Thorsten is also leading the digital transformation of ABB's building and smart home portfolio, including new go-to-market approaches and business models.

Muller has been with ABB for 2 years and 7 months and prior to that they were a member of the board of directors at BrainBox AI for 7 months. BrainBox AI is a world leading artificial intelligence technology company for commercial HVAC. They are fighting climate change and redefining building automation by utilizing self-adapting artificial intelligence technology to proactively optimize buildings. This results in significant energy savings by using AI to continuously make micro-adjustments to building’s existing HVAC system in real time and reacting to changes in the built environment immediately without human intervention.

Thorsten Müller has a postgraduate diploma in advanced management from the ESMT European School of Management and Technology, which they completed in 2013. Thorsten also has a Dr. rer. nat. from the University Duisburg-Essen in Germany, which they completed in 2005. Theirfield of study was semiconductor nanostructures and nanoparticles. Thorsten also has a Dipl.-Phys. from the Gerhard Mercator University Duisburg in Germany, which they completed in 2001. Theirfield of study was physics, semiconductors, and sensors.
